SAGA

How it works

How the record works

Fixed rules. The same actions always produce the same result.

This page describes the current development build. Beta builds can be a version behind.

Quests: the daily record

A quest is a habit that recurs every day. SAGA starts you with three, called the Core 3, and you can add your own.

Some habits are about not doing something. For those, each day you mark the habit as held or broken. A broken day resets that habit’s clean timer.

Presence over perfection

Your streak builds on any day you complete at least one of the Core 3. A day counts as missed only when all three are missed.

Rest days and exceptions exist so planned breaks and real life don’t break your streak.

XP and rank

XP is deterministic. There is no random reward: the same action always earns the same XP. Daily XP is capped.

Rank follows total XP across 33 tiers in nine ranks: Beginner, Novice, Apprentice, Operator, Specialist, Advanced, Elite, Master and Apex. Titles unlock at rank thresholds.

When you’re away

Time away is recorded. When you return, the System applies a single penalty sized to how long you were gone. The most it can be is 200 XP. It does not compound, and it is not charged day by day while you’re away.

After a real absence, the System can open a five-day recovery window. It advances by calendar day only, so it can’t be rushed.

The gap is recorded. So is the return.

Trials and Commitments

Trials are time-boxed challenges aimed at your own habits, with their own XP. Commitments are goals you set yourself: a fixed window, one deadline, and XP awarded when the window closes.

Identity Mirrors

A mirror is a short observation drawn from your record. It appears rarely: at most once a week, and each one only once in your lifetime. It describes what the record shows. It never tells you who you are.

Your data

Your record lives on your device and is backed up to our servers so it can be restored. You can delete your account and every server-side record from inside the app. See the Privacy Policy.
