SAGA ("we", "us") is a progression app operated by an individual developer in India. This policy explains what the app collects, who processes it, how long it is kept, and how you can delete it. Contact: support@sagasystem.in.
What we collect
| Data | What it is |
|---|---|
| Player ID | A random identifier generated on your device when you first open the app. It is not derived from your name, email or phone. |
| Game state backup | The progress you build in the app: the habits you create (including names you type), daily completions, experience and penalties, quests (including any intent text you write), trial history, achievements, and the date you joined. Stored so you can restore progress on a new device. |
| Usage events | A log of in-app events (for example completing a commitment or opening a screen), tied to your Player ID and stamped with the app version and build. |
| Feedback | Anything you type into Send Feedback, with your Player ID. |
| Sync credential | A random secret kept on your device. We store only a one-way hash of it, to check that backups and deletion requests come from you. |
| Crash reports | If the app crashes or errors, a technical report: error details, device model, operating system version and app build. It does not include your Player ID. |
Optional sign-in with Google or Apple
If you choose to sign in, your Player ID becomes an identifier derived from the provider account so your progress follows you across devices. Google provides your name and email at sign-in; Apple provides an identifier, and your name and email only if you choose to share them. The app keeps your name and email on your device. Our servers store the provider-derived identifier, not your email address. We use these only to identify your account and sync your data.
Who processes it
- Supabase hosts our database and sync function (Asia-Pacific, Mumbai region). It holds the game state backup, usage events, feedback and credential hash.
- PostHog (United States) provides product analytics: usage events and screen views, linked to your Player ID, with basic device and app information.
- Sentry (United States) receives crash reports.
- Google or Apple process your sign-in if you use it, under their own policies.
We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Why we use it
- To run the app: back up and restore your progress.
- To understand how the app is used and fix problems: analytics, events and crash reports.
- To answer you when you contact us or send feedback.
How long we keep it
- Usage events and feedback on our servers are deleted automatically after 180 days.
- Your game state backup and sync credential are kept until you delete your account.
- Analytics and crash reports are kept under the retention settings of PostHog and Sentry.
Deleting your data
In the app, go to Profile, then Support, then Delete Account & All Data. This removes your progress from your device and, from our servers, your game state backup, usage events, feedback and sync credential, and requests deletion of your PostHog profile. Details, and what to do if you cannot open the app, are on the account deletion page.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what we hold about your Player ID, to correct it, or to delete it. Where the law of your country gives you further rights, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 or the GDPR, we will honour them. Write to support@sagasystem.in.
Children
SAGA is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the data.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Backups and deletion are authorised by a per-device secret that we store only as a hash. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
